Director Wholesale, Channel Sales
Position Summary:
The Director, Wholesale Channel Sales will lead the business development and execution of assigned customers and channels to meet and exceed the Harry & David Wholesale brand and budget objectives. The incumbent will be expected to develop and lead a Harry & David channel strategy for future business revenue streams. Responsibilities include planning, preparation, implementation and measurement of tactical plans against strategic objectives. The incumbent is expected to work internally with cross functional teams to provide feedback and gain input such as, but not limited to forecasting product needs. The incumbent must possess demonstrated direct account, channel and third party sales management success. Field Based - position located in Chicago, Dallas, New York.
Essential Responsibilities and Functions
- Achieve sales goals for fiscal year based upon budgeted plan. (50%)
- Primary contact for assigned customers and broker partners. (25%)
- Execute account/channel business plan to grow both top and bottom line objectives. (10%)
- Forecasting product needs for all assigned accounts in territory (10%)
- Maintain consistent communication with all cross functional departments. (10%)
- Develop and execute a go to market strategy against key customers to lead strategic growth of the brand and business to be a successful, contributing channel, including a comprehensive business plan.
- Create account and channel plans to grow contribution margin of responsible accounts.
- Work closely with Wholesale cross functional team to ensure all members to ensure accuracy of knowledge and alignment to sell-in plans.
- Drive account penetration by identifying key contacts and growing a business building relationship.
- Develop and execute business building practices with assigned third party business partners.
- Execute on-going business analysis to grow business and ensure key metrics are exceeded.
- Provide monthly sku forecast by account to production planning to meet business product needs monthly.
- Analyze business data to provide recommendations for business improvement monthly.
Position Requirements:
- Education – Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience
- Minimum years of relevant experience: 7 – 10 years with Wholesale Customer account and Third party sales experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy; Creative problem solver
- Enjoy working on a team while possessing a strong independent work ethic.
- Outstanding collaboration skills both internally and externally
- Ability to work in fast paced, limited resource environment & juggle multiple long and short term priorities.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate strategic recommendations to both internally and externally in a clear concise manner.
- Extensive travel is required to meet and work with customers and third party sales management’s organizations.
